Can the sample itineraries on your web site be altered to meet my
schedule and interests?
Our sample itineraries are based on our own expertise and experience.
While we have provided a few samples of what can be seen in a certain time
frame, our Safari and Tours are always designed to meet your party's
schedule and interests.
Do you arrange flights as well?
No, we do not arrange or book flights. When planning your trip ensure that
your flight, which you can book with your local travel agent or Internet
flight agent, corresponds with your commencement and departure dates.
What are the entry requirements?
All visitors are required to be in possession of a valid passport that is
valid for six months beyond the intended length of stay and where
necessary, a visa. Nationals of certain countries do not require visas. It
is advisable to check with the nearest South African Consulate for the
latest visa and entry requirements. Visitors who intend travelling to
South Africa's neighbouring countries and back into South Africa are
advised to apply for multiple entry visas. Tourists must satisfy
immigration officers that they have the means to support themselves during
their stay, and that they are in possession of return or onward air
tickets. They must also have valid international health certificates.
Are there any health and safety concerns when travelling in South
Africa?
Crime is a problem in all major cities across the world, which need not
impact on the enjoyment of your holiday. No country can claim to be 100%
safe. Although it is important to be conscientious about safety and health
concerns, come2africa/Sithanda eAfrika Safari & Tours staff will ensure that your
safety is their top priority. Following the advice of your guide can avoid
most potential problems so that you can relax and enjoy the wonderful
hospitality and one of the most beautiful and breathtaking countries in
the world.
We are committed to providing safari and tours that are safe and
comfortable. It is not necessary to take any extra precautions other than
those generally recommended when travelling overseas.
We recommend contacting a medical doctor who specializes in travel
medicine and the Centers for Disease Control for official health
precautions and recommended vaccinations needed to travel to South Africa.
Travel with a medical kit that contains a supply of medications you may
require.
For your own safety and peace of mind, we encourage you to make
duplicate copies of all official documents and essential information (e.g.
passports, receipts for travellers cheques, etc.). Should anything get
lost or stolen, this would help ensure that you receive assistance in a
timely and efficient manner.
We strongly encourage you to purchase your own Travel, Medical and
Emergency Evacuation Insurance once you have finalized your travel plans.
Please note expensive jewellery should not be taken on safari and you
should not flash lots of money around.
Many of the animals you'll come across, particularly lion, hippo,
buffalo and especially elephant, are dangerous. Your come2africa/Sithanda eAfrika
Safari & Tours guide will always endeavour to get as close as possible for
you to take your photographs; however, your safety is our top priority, so
please accept the advice of your guide when in the bush.
Are there any medical precautions, will I have access to medical
facilities?
Generally the Major towns and Cities do have adequate medical facilities.
It is strongly advised that travel insurance is taken to cover yourself in
the light of any unfortunate events. Come2africa/Sithanda eAfrika Safari & Tours staff
members are trained in emergency first-aid. If you are on prescription
medication, please ensure you have an adequate supply to last the duration
of your stay.
Immunisations:
No international immunisation is needed when entering South Africa at this
time. As vaccination requirements change from time to time, we suggest you
consult your local doctor or health department for prophylactics and the
latest health precautions.
The only inoculation requirement is a yellow fever vaccination
certificate from travellers over one year of age entering South Africa
within six days of leaving an infected country. Visitors who travel
through or disembark in these areas are advised to be inoculated against
the disease before visiting South Africa.
Malaria:
This disease is to the larger extent under control in South Africa. The
risk of contracting the disease is negligible provided that you take the
standard precautions. It is strongly advised that you consult with your
doctor for the correct malaria medication.
How did the "big five" get their name?
The term is a reference from colonial trophy hunting. The hunters ranked
African animals as to how dangerous they were to hunt. The "big five" are
leopard, lion, elephant, rhino and buffalo.
Can I feed the wild animals?
Contact with and feeding all wild animals is strictly prohibited.
What is the weather like?

charmingly quaint and authentic to modern hotels, and are generally
situated in beautiful surroundings.
What is the voltage of electricity in South Africa?

Foreign tourists visiting South Africa can have their value-added tax
(VAT) refunded provided the value of the items purchased exceeds R250. VAT

may claim back VAT paid on items that will be taken out of the country.
Original tax invoices, foreign passport, plus all the items on which a
refund is claimed, must be presented at the VAT refund administration

export all the goods specified on a particular tax invoice, only the value
of the goods and the tax paid on such goods exported must be declared on
this form.
