WHAT TO BRING

Clothing

  • Plan to dress for outdoor comfort.

  • Dress is casual on safari and should be comfortable. Neutral colors are suggested as it can be dry and dusty.
  • Comfortable walking shoes and sandals
  • Smart-casual or formal clothing is optional for eveningwear
  • Sweater and jackets are suggested, as temperatures are cooler in the early mornings and evenings but warm up during the day in the winter months.
  • Sweat pants or jeans if desired
  • Water-proof jacket/rain coat
  • Hat
  • Inexpensive laundry services/facilities are available.

Medications

  • Prescription medications: make sure you have enough to last during your trip, as well as a copy of the prescription(s)

  • Malaria tablets
  • Prescription glasses

Miscellaneous

  • Visa/MasterCard credit cards and/or travellers cheques

  • Camera. The harsh African sun provides excellent lighting, but using larger lenses will require faster film, especially in early morning or late afternoon when the light is softer. In this case, 200-400 ASA film is recommended. Film and batteries are usually available.
  • Sun block
  • Sunglasses
  • Insect repellent
  • Binoculars
  • Torch/flash light

TRAVEL LIGHTLY! DO NOT OVER PACK.
